If anyone sees this and has a simple solution that im missing let me know. I decided to give the X1 a try and had a pretty negative experience. I am a long-time Harmony user, and have had a Harmony Elite for years. I cant be the only one in the world that wants to control my airpod volume using an IR remote. ago by jgranto SofaBaton X1 thoughts from a Harmony Elite owner Hi all, I wanted to share my experience with the SofaBaton X1. Unless you use their remote over bluetooth, or an ios device and the ios remote app (now in ios control center) you have to go into the control panel and adjust the volume of your airpods there, which is kind of silly. I connect some spatial audio airpod pros every night for private viewing pleasure while my partner sleeps. Hi Bob, As I said, I used the Flirc software installed on the PC where my Kodi is installed, and with my Harmony 700, I used the learning function as available in the Flirc software (not the Logitech software/My Harmony). The apple TV has a learning function, but you can not learn an IR volume control that works with airpods when their connected to the apple tv. However, there are still a few things that cant be accomplished with the harmony 650 that require bluetooth.įor instance, apple in their infinite wisdom, has decided that there is no need to allow users to easily control the volume of airpods connected to an apple tv with IR control. I use my harmony 650 all the time with channels dvr, a yamaha atmos home theater amplifier, and apple tv 4k.įor the most part I can accomplish everything i need to do with the gold old 650 harmony IR remote. Or am I better off just using the Full Keyboard preset and work from there?Īnd finally, the key map XML files in Kodi itself. This happens on my Mac if I’m very close but also on my TV setup being much more far away from the Flirc dongle. Kodi is almost impossible to use this way. Next comes the super- user-unfriendly Flirc GUI app where if you load a preset(Kodi), you see there are no buttons for important functions such as EPG or Record, so you Clear Configuration fiddling with the preset, only to learn there's no way to go back to the default preset key mappings and you've just cleared a preset clean. I attached the log from the Flirc app and you can clearly see the :e:25 almost every time. WTF but let's say this is now OK and I've got all the buttons sending a signal. To my surprirse this Harmony profile does not activate all the buttons on the remote (such as Record or Guide) and you have to manually "teach" them to the remote. I've set up the Harmony with the following device - manufacturer "Flirc" model "Kodi".
